Aaron Ramsdale recently extended a cheeky farewell to Emile Smith Rowe following the latter’s transfer to Fulham. Earlier today, Smith Rowe completed his move from Arsenal to Fulham, signing a contract valued at £27 million with an additional £7 million in potential add-ons.
In a humorous gesture, Ramsdale made light of their shared experiences as substitutes by sharing a throwback photo of Smith Rowe. Ramsdale's caption read, "My number 10! Gonna miss sitting next to you everyday♥️."
Both Ramsdale and Smith Rowe experienced a reduction in their roles under Arsenal's manager, Mikel Arteta. Ramsdale, in particular, found his position compromised after the loan acquisition of David Raya from Brentford last season. As a result, Ramsdale spent a significant portion of the season on the bench. Similarly, Smith Rowe struggled to secure a regular spot in Arsenal's midfield, unable to displace established players such as Martin Ødegaard and Kai Havertz.
