Comedian Dami Olatunde, known in the entertainment world as Aphrican Ace, has shared the sorrowful news of the death of his pre-term baby boy, Zion.
In a deeply emotional Instagram post, Olatunde detailed the heartbreaking events surrounding his son's brief life and untimely death.
Olatunde revealed that Zion, who was expected to be born in October, arrived prematurely on July 2, 26 weeks before his due date. Despite the early arrival, the family chose to go ahead with a baby shower on July 27, which had been planned in anticipation of Zion's birth. The event was a significant occasion for the family, celebrating the impending arrival of their son, even though he had come much earlier than expected.
Tragically, the joy of the baby shower was overshadowed by dire news the following day. On July 28, Olatunde and his wife learned that Zion had developed a bacterial infection. This infection quickly led to a series of rapid and severe complications over the next few days. Despite the medical team’s dedicated efforts and the family's fervent prayers, Zion's condition deteriorated. Olatunde expressed that they remained hopeful and optimistic throughout this challenging time, particularly given the infant's resilience, which even astonished the doctors.
