Crossdresser Bobrisky Released from Kirikiri Correctional Centre After Six-Month Sentence for Naira Abuse, Celebrates with Friends in Style

Bobrisky, the prominent crossdresser and social media personality, has been released from the Kirikiri Correctional Centre on August 5, 2024. His release marks the end of several months spent in detention following charges related to the misuse of Nigerian currency.

Bobrisky, known for his flamboyant style, was seen emerging from the correctional facility with a vibrant demeanor. He showcased his signature look, complete with elaborate makeup and a stylish wig. To celebrate his release, Bobrisky was greeted by friends who had arranged a G-Wagon, and he joyfully danced beside the vehicle, marking the occasion with a sense of triumph and relief.

The legal troubles began on April 5, 2024, when Bobrisky was formally charged with four counts of naira abuse by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The allegations centered on the improper handling and defacement of Nigerian currency. Following his arraignment, he was sentenced to six months in prison on April 12, 2024. This verdict was handed down by Justice Abimbola Awogboro at the Federal High Court, with no provision for an alternative fine. The sentencing highlighted the seriousness of the charges and underscored the legal consequences associated with currency misuse.
