Cynthia Uchendu, the wife of Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, host of the popular reality TV show Big Brother Naija (BBNaija), has revealed her wish to have a son as her third child. This statement came during a recent interview on the Mum’s Next Door podcast, where Cynthia opened up about her family plans.
During the interview, Cynthia expressed her clear desire to have a male child in addition to her two daughters. She stated, “Yes, I definitely want one more child. I have 2 girls now so my prayers will be to have a boy.” Her aspiration for a son reflects her personal hopes for her expanding family.
When questioned about whether her husband, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, shares the same desire for another child, Cynthia clarified the dynamics of their decision-making. She said, “It is my decision. Not Ebuka’s decision.” This indicates that the choice to have another child primarily rests with Cynthia.
Cynthia elaborated on Ebuka’s initial stance regarding family size. She mentioned that Ebuka had originally preferred having just one child, citing concerns about the rising costs associated with raising a child. Cynthia explained, “My husband actually wanted just one child because he wants to be able to give the child the best. He said school fees, everything is so expensive so one is fine.”
Despite Ebuka's earlier position, Cynthia noted a significant shift in his attitude towards their children. She observed, “But now, he is obsessed with our children and I’m sure if we have the third he will equally be obsessed.” This change in Ebuka’s outlook suggests a growing affection and commitment to their family, which may influence his willingness to welcome a third child.
