Fatai Mogaji has been apprehended following allegations that he murdered his former girlfriend, Opeyemi, in Lagos. The suspect had been evading capture after reportedly stabbing Opeyemi multiple times.
According to reports by LIB, Opeyemi and Mogaji had rekindled their relationship on July 10, 2024. They met at a club in the Ikorodu area of Lagos and spent time together. However, around 5 a.m., an argument ensued, during which Mogaji allegedly stabbed Opeyemi 22 times in various parts of her body.
The deceased’s sister confirmed this development in a post on August 5. She detailed that Mogaji was apprehended at F1 Bar in Ikorodu, with assistance from well-wishers and friends of Opeyemi. Following his arrest, he was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) at Panti, Yaba.
In her post, she stated: “Good evening Friends, My sister's k!ller (Fatai Mogaji Abdulsalam) was caught last night at F1 Bar Ikorodu by well-wishers and Ope’s friends. He has been moved to Panti Police Station.” This update underscores the community's role in the capture and the ongoing legal proceedings against Mogaji.
