Alvarez arrived in Madrid on Sunday for a medical examination, following an agreement between the two clubs. Both Manchester City and Atletico Madrid confirmed the transfer on Monday, marking the departure of a rising talent from English football.
In a heartfelt farewell message, Alvarez expressed his gratitude to Manchester City, stating, "Today I say goodbye to this amazing club, with a lot of emotion. These have been two very special years... I have grown and learnt a lot - both as a player and as a person."
He thanked the club's directors, technical staff, and teammates for their support and confidence, highlighting the valuable experiences and memories he gained during his time at Manchester City.
