Manchester United has recently bolstered its squad with two notable signings from Bayern Munich.
Matthijs de Ligt, a distinguished center-back with previous stints at Ajax and Juventus, has joined the club and will don the number 4 shirt. De Ligt’s transfer came at a cost of £42.9 million, including an initial fee of £38.6 million with potential add-ons amounting to £4.3 million.
Joining him from Bayern Munich is Noussair Mazraoui, a versatile full-back who can operate on both flanks of the defense. Mazraoui will wear the number 3 shirt for Manchester United. His transfer was completed for £17.2 million, comprising an initial £12.9 million with performance-related add-ons potentially adding another £4.3 million.
Both De Ligt and Mazraoui have been registered in time to be considered for the upcoming match against Fulham. Their previous experience under Erik ten Hag at Ajax further enhances their integration into the team. Alongside these signings, Manchester United has also acquired Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro earlier in the summer transfer window. Yoro, another center-back, was signed for £59 million.
In other transfer news, Aaron Wan-Bissaka is poised to move to West Ham for a fee of £15 million.
