Adriano Assis detailed his experience, noting that after finishing his shift at the hospital, he was hurrying to catch the 11:56 a.m. flight from Cascavel Regional Airport in Cascavel, Paraná, to São Paulo/Guarulhos International Airport in São Paulo. Although he arrived at the airport early, around 9:40 a.m., there was no check-in agent available at the counter. To pass the time, he waited upstairs and had coffee, expecting to hear a flight announcement.

When no announcements were made and no staff were present, Assis went downstairs at about 10:30 a.m., where he encountered a long line of passengers. Despite trying to check in at 10:41 a.m., an airport staff member refused to process his check-in, citing that it was already an hour before the boarding time. Despite his protests, the staff member maintained the refusal.

Sadly, Voepass Airlines Flight 2283 crashed behind a condominium in Vinhedo, a city in São Paulo state, on Friday. The incident resulted in the deaths of all 58 passengers and four crew members aboard the aircraft.
