Pedro Neto has arrived in London ahead of a major move to Chelsea, with his medical tests scheduled for Saturday. This development marks the final stages of his transfer from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
It's been learnt that the agreement between the clubs includes a contract that will bind Neto to Chelsea until June 2030, with an additional option for another year.
The financial terms of the deal are substantial. Chelsea will pay an initial €56 million for Neto, with the potential for an extra €4 million in performance-related add-ons. This brings the total value of the transfer to €60 million, plus €3 million in possible bonuses. The structure of the payment reflects Chelsea's commitment to securing a significant talent for their squad.
In addition to agreeing on the financial terms, Neto has settled on personal terms with Chelsea. The deal is expected to be officially completed by Monday, following the successful conclusion of his medical examinations.
In light of Neto’s imminent departure, Wolverhampton Wanderers are already considering replacements. They have identified Ajax's Carlos Forbs as a key target to fill the void left by Neto’s exit. This proactive approach highlights the club’s efforts to maintain their competitive edge following the loss of a crucial player.
