American rapper whose real name Leonard Roberts II, known professionally as Rick Ross, is facing a lawsuit alleging that his Car & Bike Show failed to provide adequate accessibility measures for attendees with disabilities. The plaintiff, Darris Straughter, claims that the event's organizers did not fulfill their promises to provide reasonable accommodations.
According to Straughter, he was enthusiastic about attending the car show, but his experience was marred by the absence of a wheelchair-accessible shuttle bus, which he had been assured would be available. Despite his efforts to attend the event, including selling his car to cover expenses, Straughter was left stranded in the parking lot for hours.
The lawsuit alleges that the event's organizers failed to provide the promised shuttle service, forcing Straughter to relinquish his ticket and return to his hotel. Additionally, Straughter claims that he was not provided with a refund, despite being promised one.
Straughter's legal representative, John Hoover Esq., has filed a lawsuit against Rick Ross, citing breach of contract, unjust enrichment, and violation of the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA). The lawsuit seeks damages and a court order requiring future events to provide adequate accessibility measures.
