The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has praised Super Eagles player Ademola Lookman for his outstanding performance in Nigeria's 3-0 victory over Benin Republic in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match.
Lookman, who plays for Atalanta, was instrumental in the win and was deservedly named Man of the Match.
The match saw Nigeria dominate Benin Republic, with goals from Ademola Lookman who netted a brace and Victor Osimhen securing the 3-0 win. Lookman opened the scoring, followed Osimhen who came off the bench and Ademola headed his second to sealed the victory with a late goal.
CAF took to social media to acknowledge Lookman's impressive display, posting a photo of the player on their X account with the caption: "What a week Ademola Lookman is having." This recognition comes on the heels of Lookman's recent nomination for the prestigious Ballon d'Or award, which shortlisted him among the top 30 players globally.
