Chelsea Manager Enzo Maresca Provides Injury Update Ahead of Carabao Cup Clash
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has offered an important update on the fitness of two key players ahead of their Carabao Cup match against Barrow.
Maresca confirmed that Malo Gusto has fully recovered from his recent injury and will be available for selection in tomorrow's game. This news comes as a welcome boost for the squad, as Gusto had been sidelined due to a thigh injury sustained in a Premier League match against Crystal Palace in August. His absence caused him to miss crucial victories over Bournemouth and West Ham.
Meanwhile, Romeo Lavia is still not fit to return to the field. Maresca expressed optimism that Lavia could be ready for the upcoming fixture against Brighton on Saturday.
Lavia’s season has been plagued by injuries, including a hamstring issue that has kept him out of recent matches. His return would offer much-needed reinforcement to Chelsea’s midfield, which has lacked depth due to his absence.
Commenting on the injury situation, Maresca stated, "Malo is available for tomorrow. Romeo is not available. Hopefully, he can be available for the Brighton game."
Chelsea's 3-0 victory over West Ham last weekend continued their strong Premier League form. With Gusto’s return, the team looks poised to further bolster their performance as they progress through the season.
Chelsea supporters will be eagerly awaiting the return of both Gusto and Lavia, whose presence on the pitch could play a crucial role in the club's continued success in upcoming fixtures.
