Cole Palmer has withdrawn from the England squad for the upcoming Nations League fixtures against the Republic of Ireland and Finland. This decision follows an assessment at St. George's Park, where it was determined that Palmer, along with Phil Foden and Ollie Watkins, would return to their respective clubs to continue rehabilitation for ongoing issues.
Palmer, who has earned nine caps and scored two goals for the England senior team, was expected to add to his international appearances during this break. However, his withdrawal means he will miss the opportunity to represent his country under interim head coach Lee Carsley.
Regarding his availability for Chelsea's next match, it appears promising. Chelsea's manager, Enzo Maresca, indicated that Palmer's condition is being monitored closely and that he is expected to be fit for their upcoming game. Palmer has been a key player for Chelsea this season, contributing significantly with one goal and four assists in the opening three Premier League fixtures.
