Cynthia Morgan Criticizes Davido's Involvement in Edo Gubernatorial Election
Former dancehall artist Cynthia Morgan has voiced her discontent with fellow musician Davido regarding his comments on the Edo gubernatorial election. In a recent series of tweets, Davido questioned a police directive instructing Edo citizens to return home immediately after casting their votes.
Responding through her Instagram story, Morgan highlighted what she perceives as Davido's insincerity. She pointed out that despite his claims of having familial ties to Edo State through his mother, she has yet to see him visit her family home or mention the specific village or family he claims to be connected to.
“If you know me, you would know I am very apolitical, but this Davido is more annoying than I thought,” she stated. “Since you’ve been shouting about your mum being from Edo State, I have never seen you visit her family house, nor have you mentioned the village or family she is from. It seems like it has only been a propaganda thing for you.”
Morgan urged Davido to refrain from interfering in the affairs of Edo people, asserting that he is not from the state and lacks an understanding of the struggles faced by the average Edo citizen. She emphasized the importance of genuine representation, stating, “Asue is the man. The Nigerian government is not a family business.”
