The Joint Task Force Operation Delta Safe, Sector 1, has apprehended three individuals in possession of a substantial cache of weapons, marking a significant success in their ongoing efforts to maintain security in the region.

The suspects, identified as Abel Festus, Ramsey Akporoyibo, and Stephen Omah, were stopped while driving a Lexus RX 350 with the registration number YAB 347 CQ in the Oghareki community, located in Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State.


Major Emmanuel Onoja, the Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, confirmed in an official statement that the operation led to the seizure of five pump-action rifles, a Dane gun, a battle axe, and 51 rounds of cartridges.


According to Major Onoja, "The suspects have been placed in custody and are currently undergoing thorough interrogation, with further investigations to follow."


This arrest is part of the Joint Task Force's ongoing strategy to curb the rising number of arms-related crimes in the area. Authorities have yet to provide additional details regarding the suspects' plans for the weapons or any links to criminal organizations.
