
Ademola Lookman Leads Super Eagles Contingent in CAF's 2024 African Player of the Year Finalists
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has unveiled the highly anticipated finalists for the 2024 African Player of the Year award, with Ademola Lookman and William Troost-Ekong flying the flag for Nigeria's Super Eagles.
The list features 11 outstanding players, including:
- Serhou Guirassy (Borussia Dortmund)
- Ademola Lookman (Atalanta)
- William Troost-Ekong (Watford)
- Simon Adingra (Brighton & Hove Albion)
- Soufiane Rahimi (Sevilla)
- Achraf Hakimi (Paris Saint-Germain)
- Edmond Tapsoba (Bayer Leverkusen)
- Amine Gouiri (Nice)
- Chancel Mbemba (Al Ahly)
- Ronwen Williams (SuperSport United)
Notably, several high-profile players were overlooked, including Liverpool's Mohamed Salah, West Ham's Mohammed Kudus, and Chelsea's Nico Jackson. Victor Osimhen and Victor Boniface, both having impressive seasons, also failed to make the cut.
The winner will be revealed at the CAF Awards ceremony in Marrakech on December 16.
