Barcelona's newly signed goalkeeper, Wojciech Szczęsny, has sparked controversy after openly discussing his smoking habit. The Polish international has refused to apologize for his lifestyle choice, citing it as a personal matter.
In a recent interview, Szczęsny stated:
"If anyone thinks they can change my personal life, try again, it has never worked. I've been smoking since I was 16, and I'm still playing at a very high level."
Szczęsny joined Barcelona on a one-year deal, replacing injured Marc-Andre ter Stegen. Despite initial reports suggesting he sought the No. 1 spot, Szczęsny emphasized his willingness to support younger goalkeepers, like Iñaki Peña, and prioritize team success.
