Lamine Yamal, the 17-year-old Barcelona forward, became the target of racial abuse following his historic goal in El Clásico against Real Madrid. 
Yamal’s 77th-minute strike, which marked Barcelona's third goal in a 4-0 victory at the Santiago Bernabéu, made him the youngest scorer in the storied rivalry between the two clubs.
However, as he celebrated alongside teammate Raphinha near the corner where Madrid fans were seated, the celebration turned somber as a portion of the crowd shouted racial slurs, referencing his Moroccan heritage.
This incident, captured in videos circulated on social media, highlights ongoing struggles with racism in Spanish football. In response, both La Liga and Real Madrid released statements condemning the abuse, with the club vowing to identify and penalize those involved.
Real Madrid stated that they “strongly condemn any behavior involving racism, xenophobia, or violence,” further pledging to work with authorities to prevent similar future incidents.
The racist abuse directed at Yamal adds to a troubling list of recent cases in Spanish stadiums, following incidents targeting other players at venues like Mestalla.
