The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the final three nominees for the coveted CAF Player of the Year award for 2024. This year's shortlist showcases exceptional talent from across the African continent.

The nominees are:

1. Ademola Lookman (Nigeria, Atalanta)
2. Mohamed Salah (Egypt, Liverpool)
3. Victor Boniface (Nigeria, Bayer Leverkusen)

Each nominee has demonstrated outstanding skill, dedication, and performance throughout the year, making significant contributions to their respective clubs and national teams.

Ademola Lookman has had an impressive year, scoring 17 goals and providing 11 assists for Atalanta in the 2023/24 season. He was instrumental in Nigeria's run to the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Mohamed Salah continues to be a pivotal figure for Liverpool and Egypt. In the 2023/24 season, he scored 25 goals and provided 14 assists across all competitions for Liverpool. Salah also marked his 100th international appearance for Egypt with a goal in a 4-0 victory over Botswana.

Victor Boniface has been a standout performer for Bayer Leverkusen and Nigeria. Despite missing the 2023 AFCON due to injury, Boniface made a significant impact in the Bundesliga, scoring 20 goals and providing 8 assists in the 2023/24 season. His performances have been crucial in Bayer Leverkusen's strong league campaign and deep run in the UEFA Europa League.

The winner will be decided by a panel comprising the CAF Technical Committee, media professionals, and Head Coaches and Captains of Member Associations. The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on December 11, 2024, at the Palais des Congrès, Movenpick, Marrakech, Morocco.
