It was learnt that Zinat Balogun, Saheed's first daughter, was a cherished member of the Balogun family, and her untimely death has left a profound void in the hearts of her loved ones and within the Nigerian entertainment community. The cause of her death has not yet been disclosed.
Saheed Balogun, celebrated for his significant contributions to Nollywood, took to Instagram on Saturday to share the tragic news. He posted a solemn image of a candle surrounded by flowers, accompanied by heartbroken emojis, to express his deep sorrow. The post has elicited an outpouring of condolences and support from fans, colleagues, and friends.
Among those extending their sympathies were Saheed’s ex-wife, Fathia Williams, and fellow actress Ronke Oshodi Oke. Fathia, who was once Zinat’s stepmother, wrote, “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un” (from Allah we come, and to Him we shall return). Ronke added, “No words can ease the pain of losing someone so precious. My heart goes out to you, Saheed Balogun. May you find strength in the love and support surrounding you.”
The Nigerian entertainment industry has rallied around Saheed during this incredibly difficult time, with many notable figures offering their condolences.
