VeryDarkMan, a controversial social media critic, has been ordered by the Lagos State High Court to remove defamatory comments and videos targeting lawyer and human rights activist Femi Falana (SAN) and his son, Folarin, aka Falz.
The court ruling, delivered by Justice M. O. Idowu on Tuesday, deemed VeryDarkMan's publications on September 24, 2024, linking Bobrisky to Falz and his father as defamatory and damaging to their public image.
According to Dawodu, VeryDarkMan knowingly published false statements to harm Falz and Falana's reputation. "The applicants (Falz and Falana) stated that the defendant (VeryDarkMan) knew these statements were false and untrue but proceeded to publish them to injure their reputation," Dawodu said. "Furthermore, the defamatory statements are still trending on the defendant's several online platforms, and the injury to their reputation continues as long as the publication remains online."
