Daniel Regha Shares Thoughts on Wizkid's New Album "Morayo"
Nigerian social media critic Daniel Regha has weighed in on Wizkid's latest album, "Morayo," released on November 22, 2024. The album, named in honor of Wizkid's late mother, has generated significant anticipation and enthusiasm among fans and music enthusiasts.
In his critique, Regha awarded the album a 3.5 out of 10, describing it as prioritizing quantity over quality. He observed that the album features repetitive sounds and lacks creative collaborations. Regha suggested that Wizkid might have been better off releasing it as an EP with just four to five songs instead of a full album.
Regha's post on Twitter read: "Morayo by Wizkid is a quantity over quality album, literally two songs divided into subparts. It might be a commercial success due to hype, but unfortunately, it's not the album of the year people hope it will be. A lot of songs sound repetitive, with lyrics showing that it was produced with just TikTok in mind as there's no spark. The track 'Bend' proves this."
The review sparked mixed reactions from fans, with some agreeing with Regha's assessment and others defending the album. Despite the criticism, "Morayo" continues to trend on social media and is poised for commercial success.
