Atletico Madrid Defeat PSG 2-1 with Late Joaquin Correa Goal in Dramatic Champions League Encounter

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) suffered a 2-1 defeat to Atletico Madrid in their UEFA Champions League encounter on November 6, 2024.

PSG took the lead in the 15th minute through Warren Zaire-Emery. Ousmane Dembele intercepted a poor pass from Atletico’s defense and quickly set up Zaire-Emery, who chipped the ball over the goalkeeper to open the scoring. However, Atletico Madrid responded just four minutes later. After a save by PSG’s Gianluigi Donnarumma, Nahuel Molina pounced on the rebound and fired a powerful half-volley into the net to equalize for Atletico in the 19th minute.

As the match neared its end, Atletico Madrid found the winner in stoppage time. Joaquin Correa capitalized on a swift counter-attack, receiving the ball inside the box and calmly slotting it past Donnarumma to secure a 2-1 victory for Atletico Madrid in the 90+3' minute.

Despite dominating possession and creating multiple chances, PSG failed to secure the win. This result leaves them in a precarious position in their Champions League group.
