Bobrisky, the well-known Nigerian social media personality and cross-dresser, has been detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The incident occurred at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos, where Bobrisky was intercepted while boarding a KLM flight to Amsterdam.
Journalist Kemi Olunloyo broke the news on her Twitter timeline, revealing that Bobrisky was arrested on the plane just before the night flight departed. Bobrisky confirmed the arrest on his Instagram story, stating that he had been injured during the process. He wrote, "Nigerians help me, EFCC just arrested me. I’m badly injured."
This development has stirred concern among Bobrisky's followers, given his history with legal troubles. In April 2024, he was sentenced to six months in prison for naira abuse, and he is currently under investigation for alleged bribery and corruption.
