Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has announced his plan to donate ₦300 million to charity on his upcoming birthday, which falls on November 21, 2024.
Sharing the news on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Davido stated, "Once again, my birthday this year we [are] donating to orphanages and a charity that helps young people stay away from drug abuse & addiction. This year is ₦300m. Details to follow soon".
This announcement aligns with Davido's philanthropic history. In 2021, he raised over ₦200 million from fans and friends for his 29th birthday and added ₦50 million of his own money. The total ₦250 million was donated to orphanages across Nigeria through his foundation, the David Adeleke Foundation.
