Manchester United triumphed with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League last night at Old Trafford.
Alejandro Garnacho swiftly opened the scoring just 81 seconds into the match, taking advantage of an error by Bodo/Glimt’s goalkeeper, Nikita Haikin, with a composed tap-in after Rasmus Hojlund pressured the goalkeeper into the mistake.
In response, Hakon Evjen equalized for Bodo/Glimt in the 19th minute with a spectacular strike from outside the box, perfectly placing the ball into the top corner.
Just four minutes later, Philip Zinckernagel put Bodo/Glimt ahead by holding off a defender and calmly finishing into the net.
United fought back with Rasmus Hojlund's controlled volley just before halftime, bringing the score level. Hojlund then secured the win in the 50th minute by converting Manuel Ugarte’s precise low pass with a close-range finish.
Under the new management of Ruben Amorim, Manchester United demonstrated resilience and tactical acumen to overcome their determined opponents. Despite intense pressure towards the end of the match, the Red Devils held firm, ensuring Amorim’s tenure started on a victorious note.
