Frank Lampard Takes Charge of His First Training Session at Coventry City
Coventry City has officially appointed Frank Lampard as their new head coach, signing him to a two-and-a-half-year contract. Lampard, who previously managed Chelsea and Everton, will be taking over from Mark Robins, who was dismissed following the team's recent struggles.
Lampard's coaching journey began at Derby County in 2018, where he led the team to the Championship Play-Off Final. He then moved to Chelsea in 2019, guiding the Blues to a fourth-place finish and Champions League qualification. His next role was at Everton from January 2022 to January 2023, and he returned to Chelsea as an interim manager in 2023.
Lampard's first match in charge of Coventry City will be against Cardiff City at the Coventry Building Society Arena this Saturday. The club is hopeful that Lampard's wealth of experience will help turn things around and lead them to success in the Championship.
