Flick, who reviewed the decision closely, stated, "I saw the pictures and the decision was wrong, it’s a valid goal. It’s very clear, the goal had to be valid."
Despite his frustration, he acknowledged the human aspect of officiating, saying, "But we have to accept it, we shouldn't blame the referee because we are all human and make mistakes… today was a big mistake."
The only goal of the match came from Sheraldo Becker, who scored for Real Sociedad. Barcelona, despite having significant possession, was unable to break through Sociedad’s defense and was left frustrated by the decision that denied them an equalizer.
