Galatasaray trolled Tottenham Hotspur on social media after their thrilling 3-2 Europa League victory in Istanbul, posting a picture of Victor Osimhen with the caption,"We already knew he loves Spurs". Adding in another post saying, "When you have Victor Osimhen, you have everything! 💪🔥 #GALTOT."
The lighthearted dig followed an intense match where Osimhen starred with two crucial goals, and Tottenham's young striker, Will Lankshear, received a red card.
The action began swiftly, with Galatasaray's Yunus Akgün scoring in the sixth minute. Akgün capitalized on a headed clearance, delivering a powerful volley into the top-right corner. Tottenham quickly responded, as Lankshear netted his first goal for the club after a well-executed pass from Brennan Johnson.
However, the first half belonged to Osimhen, who restored Galatasaray's lead by pouncing on a defensive miscue by Radu Dragusin. The Nigerian forward doubled his tally soon after, expertly volleying in a cross from Dries Mertens to strengthen Galatasaray's position.
The second half saw Tottenham reduced to ten men when Lankshear received a second yellow card for a reckless tackle. Despite this setback, Spurs fought back, with Dominic Solanke converting Pedro Porro's low cross to pull one goal back. Their attempts to equalize continued, but Dejan Kulusevski’s late, long-range shot rolled just wide in injury time, sealing Galatasaray’s narrow yet memorable victory.
