Liverpool are not looking to offload Federico Chiesa, despite reports suggesting that he might return to Serie A.
The Italian winger joined Liverpool in the summer of 2024, but his time at the club has been marred by injury issues. Chiesa, who missed pre-season preparations, has struggled to reach the fitness levels required for Premier League football. As a result, he has been sidelined for most of the season, making only a handful of appearances totaling just 77 minutes of game time.
Chiesa's current injury woes stem from the lack of a full pre-season, and his struggle to adapt to the higher intensity of the Premier League has compounded the issue. While there are no firm timelines for his return, it’s expected that he will rejoin full training after the international break, potentially pushing him back into contention by late November or early December.
Despite these setbacks, Liverpool remain committed to getting Chiesa back to his best, with manager Arne Slot emphasizing the importance of allowing the player to regain his fitness without the pressure of immediate expectations. The club is not considering a loan or permanent departure for Chiesa, as they are confident that once fully fit, he will prove to be a valuable asset in their attacking options.
