Mariah the Scientist, the girlfriend of rapper Young Thug, recently expressed her emotions following his release from jail as a result of a plea deal. Her heartfelt message has resonated widely, reflecting the relief and gratitude she feels after a challenging period in their lives.

Young Thug, whose real name is Jeffery Lamar Williams, was arrested on May 9, 2022, in Atlanta, Georgia. This arrest was part of a broader indictment concerning gang-related charges under Georgia's Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act.
During a performance in Brooklyn, Mariah shared her joy and thankfulness, stating, “I just wanna thank God for the day, I wanna thank you for life, light, and love. I wanna thank you for our family and friends, I wanna thank you for Jeff and our relationship. I wanna thank you for covering us and keeping us safe, every day.” Her words were met with cheers from the audience, who have stood by her throughout Young Thug’s legal challenges.
Mariah also reflected on the difficulties they have endured, acknowledging the skeptics who doubted their relationship. She said, “This has really been a long time coming. It has been really hard. I’m appreciative that you kept showing up and supporting me. There were people who were telling me I would never see him again… making fun of us… Amen.” Her resilience and steadfast support for Young Thug have been clear throughout his trial.
In an additional statement to WSB-TV, Mariah further conveyed her gratitude: “Thank you God, thank you God. This is more than what we prayed for. We are so grateful, this is the greatest opportunity we’ve ever been presented with and we are so grateful. Thank you Judge Paige Whitaker for giving us the opportunity to move forward with our life! Thank you God. Thank you Brian Steel and Keith Adams and every attorney working on this case, tirelessly. THANK YOU! I cannot say it enough, I cannot repay you for this. You have changed our lives, Jeffery’s life and mine. Thank you to everyone who has been there for us, every fan, who believed in us and prayed for us.”
