Nico Williams made a surprising revelation about his teammate, Barcelona's Lamine Yamal, ahead of Spain's Euro 2024 semi-final against France.
Williams shared that, while he was feeling nervous about the high-stakes match, Yamal was calmly asleep just before the game. "We were about to play a semi-final of a European Championship. I was terrified, and he was... asleep!" Williams said.
Despite his relaxed demeanor, Yamal went on to make history by scoring the equalizing goal in Spain's 2-1 victory over France.
The match saw France take an early lead when Randal Kolo Muani headed in a cross from Kylian Mbappé in the 9th minute.
However, Yamal responded with a stunning 25-yard strike in the 21st minute, becoming the youngest goalscorer in European Championship history. Dani Olmo then added a second goal for Spain in the 25th minute, securing their place in the final.
