Ruben Amorim, who was recently appointed as Manchester United's head coach, has already hinted at his team selection for the upcoming match against Ipswich Town.
Amorim, who took over the role on November 11, 2024, has a contract that runs until June 2027, with an option for an additional year.
In a press conference ahead of his debut game on November 24, 2024, Amorim suggested that Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui might play as wing-backs in his preferred 3-4-3 formation. He mentioned, "I don't want to say too much, but you have to use both [full-backs and wingers as wing-backs] because you have different games. We should start with full backs, because to teach a winger to defend is harder."
This approach is part of Amorim's strategy to bring significant changes to Old Trafford, aiming to improve the team's performance after a difficult start to the season under Erik ten Hag. The match against Ipswich Town will be the first test of Amorim's new tactics and leadership.
