Former First Lady of Nigeria, Aisha Buhari, marked her 35th wedding anniversary with Muhammadu Buhari, former President of Nigeria, through a heartfelt social media post.
Sharing the milestone on December 2, 2024, Aisha highlighted the enduring partnership and gratitude for their years together.
The couple married in 1989, following Muhammadu Buhari's divorce from Safinatu Buhari in 1988. Over the decades, their union has been blessed with five children—Zahra, Yusuf, Halima, Aisha, and Amina Buhari—and several grandchildren.
Aisha, known for her advocacy for women's empowerment and girl-child education, has also contributed significantly to humanitarian causes through her Future Assured Initiative, which aims to improve maternal and child health in Nigeria.
