Fabio Cannavaro, the 2006 Ballon d'Or winner and former Italy national team captain, has been appointed as the new head coach of Dinamo Zagreb.
This announcement follows reports from reputable sources, including renowned football journalist Fabrizio Romano, indicating that Cannavaro was the club's top choice to replace Nenad Bjelica, should the need arise.
Cannavaro brings a wealth of experience to the Croatian club, both as a player and a coach. His managerial career includes stints with Italian clubs Benevento and Udinese, as well as international teams such as Guangzhou Evergrande, Al-Nassr, and Tianjin Quanjian. Notably, he led Guangzhou Evergrande to the Chinese Super League title in 2019.
Dinamo Zagreb, currently positioned third in the Croatian First Football League with 29 points from 18 matches, is optimistic that Cannavaro's leadership will enhance the team's performance both domestically and in European competitions.
