Victor Boniface, Bayer Leverkusen's prolific Nigerian striker, has resumed training following a thigh injury sustained during Nigeria's 2-1 loss to Rwanda in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. 
The injury, diagnosed as torn muscle fibers in his thigh, led to a significant absence from the squad. During this period, Boniface missed several crucial fixtures, including Bundesliga matches and UEFA Champions League games.
Prior to his injury, Boniface was in exceptional form for Bayer Leverkusen in the 2024/25 season. In the Bundesliga, he scored six goals, placing him among the league's top scorers. Additionally, he provided one assist and registered 41 shots, highlighting his offensive contributions.
