Karim Benzema reflected on his recent reunion with Cristiano Ronaldo during a match in the Saudi Pro League.
Benzema's Al-Ittihad triumphed over Ronaldo's Al-Nassr with a 2-1 victory. Benzema opened the scoring in the 55th minute, Ronaldo equalized two minutes later, and Steven Bergwijn secured the win for Al-Ittihad in added time.
Reflecting on their reunion, Benzema shared, "It's good to see Cristiano again. We've come a long way together. We played nine years at Madrid, scored goals, and won trophies." The mutual respect between the two superstars was evident as they exchanged warm wishes for their respective futures. Benzema added, "We wished each other good luck for the future with our clubs and continue to make the difference."
Benzema and Ronaldo joined Real Madrid together in 2009 and formed one of the most fearsome trios in European football alongside Gareth Bale, known as the 'BBC,' from 2013 to 2018. During their time together, they shared the pitch 342 times and combined for 76 goals, winning multiple trophies, including four UEFA Champions League titles and two La Liga titles.
Their tenure as teammates ended in 2018 when Ronaldo left Real Madrid for Juventus, and Benzema followed suit in 2023, moving to Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League. Despite now being rivals, their enduring legacy and mutual respect remain strong.
