Aspas's association with Celta began at the age of eight, progressing through the youth ranks to make his first-team debut in 2008. Over his career, he has accumulated 574 appearances, netted 220 goals, and provided 82 assists. Notably, he has secured the Zarra Trophy—awarded to the top Spanish scorer in LaLiga—on four occasions.
In a heartfelt video released at BalaÃdos Stadium, Aspas expressed his deep connection to the club and its supporters, stating, "Celta is my life and my home." He was accompanied by his family during this announcement, underscoring the personal significance of this commitment.
Aspas is on the verge of surpassing the club's all-time appearance record, currently held by Manolo RodrÃguez with 533 matches. With 509 appearances to date, he is just 24 matches away from setting a new milestone.
The forward's first match following this renewal is scheduled for January 5, in a Copa del Rey fixture against Racing de Santander. Additionally, Celta plans to honor Aspas during their upcoming home game against Athletic Club on January 10.
