Former England international Dele Alli has commenced training with Serie A club Como, under the guidance of head coach Cesc FÃ bregas.
Alli, who has been without a club since his departure from Everton in June, is seeking to rejuvenate his career following a period of inactivity since February 2023.
FÃ bregas, who also holds a minority stake in Como, expressed optimism about Alli's integration into the team. He stated, "Dele is training with us now and is feeling good. He's a wonderful player. If we can help him, we're more than happy. At the moment, he's only training with us."
Alli's presence was noted during Como's recent 2-0 victory over Roma, where he was seen in the stands alongside Hollywood actors Keira Knightley, Adrien Brody, and Michael Fassbender. This appearance has fueled speculation about his potential signing with the Italian club.
The 28-year-old midfielder has faced challenges in recent years, including limited playing time and injury setbacks during his tenure at Everton and a loan spell at Besiktas. His current training stint with Como represents an opportunity to regain fitness and potentially secure a contract to revive his professional career.
Como's sporting director, Carlalberto Ludi, commented on the situation, stating, "We have an excellent relationship with his agent, and something interesting could develop, but we can't know for sure yet. We need a few weeks, including time to get to know each other, and then we'll make the best decision."
As Alli works towards a potential return to competitive football, his progress at Como will be closely monitored by both the club's management and supporters, hopeful that the former Premier League star can make a successful comeback.
