Chelsea Football Club has announced the promotion of two academy graduates, Tyrique George and Josh Acheampong, to the men’s first team.
Both players have been with the club since joining at the Under-8 level, demonstrating their development through Chelsea's renowned youth system.
Tyrique George's Journey
Eighteen-year-old Tyrique George, a promising forward, made his senior debut on August 29, 2024, during a UEFA Europa Conference League match against Servette, which ended in a 2-1 victory. To date, George has made multiple appearances in the competition as well as in the EFL Cup, showcasing his growing impact on the pitch.
Josh Acheampong's Progress
Defender Josh Acheampong, also 18, debuted for Chelsea on May 2, 2024, in a 2-0 Premier League win against Tottenham Hotspur. Recently, he solidified his future with the club by signing a new contract that extends until June 2029.
