During an event, Ronaldo declared, “Vinícius Jr should have won the Ballon d’Or, in my opinion, it was clear. It was unfair.” He further expressed his admiration for the Globe Soccer Awards, describing them as “honest.”

The Portuguese forward’s remarks followed a controversial decision in which Rodri, who played a pivotal role in Manchester City’s historic treble-winning season and Spain’s Euro 2024 triumph, was crowned the Ballon d’Or winner.

Despite Rodri’s success, Ronaldo emphasized the remarkable achievements of Vinícius Júnior, who scored 24 goals in 39 appearances and helped Real Madrid secure both LaLiga and Champions League titles.

Real Madrid expressed their dissatisfaction by boycotting the Ballon d’Or ceremony entirely. Notably, no representatives from the club attended the event, leaving their award for Men's Club of the Year unclaimed.

In contrast, Vinícius was recognized at the Globe Soccer Awards as the Best Men's Player of the Year, reaffirming his exceptional performance throughout the season.

Cristiano Ronaldo himself was celebrated at the Globe Soccer Awards, receiving accolades as the Best Middle East Player and being honored as the Top Goal Scorer of All Time. In his speech, Ronaldo also shared insights about his future, stating that while he does not plan to pursue a career as a coach or club president, he is open to exploring opportunities as a club owner.

Additionally, Ronaldo criticized the state of Ligue 1, asserting that Paris Saint-Germain is the league's only competitive team, while also defending the Saudi Pro League’s competitiveness and challenging conditions.
