Fiorentina midfielder Edoardo Bove experienced a frightening collapse during the Serie A match against Inter Milan on December 1, 2024.
The 22-year-old, on loan from AS Roma, fell to the ground in the 16th minute without any prior physical contact. Referee Daniele Doveri immediately stopped the game, allowing medical staff to attend to Bove. Players from both teams, visibly emotional, formed a human shield to provide privacy as he was treated.
An ambulance transported Bove to the hospital, where it was later confirmed that he had regained consciousness and was in stable condition. Fiorentina’s match against Inter Milan was subsequently postponed, and fans, players, and the wider football community have expressed their hopes for Bove's swift recovery.
Bove has been a significant contributor for Fiorentina this season, recording one goal and two assists in 12 Serie A appearances. The match will be rescheduled, with a new date yet to be announced.
