Chelsea FC manager Enzo Maresca has reiterated the club’s full support for Mykhailo Mudryk amid the ongoing controversy surrounding the player's adverse doping test.
Speaking on the matter, Maresca clarified that while the situation is becoming clearer, there is no additional information to provide beyond the official statement issued by the club.
Maresca emphasized, "We all support Misha Mudryk." He further added, "The situation is a bit more clear. We have a statement from the club, who have already said what we need to say. So there is not anything to add." He also made it clear that the squad remains behind the forward, stating, "All the players inside the training ground support and trust Misha."
Mudryk is currently under suspension after a positive test for meldonium, a substance banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). The forward has denied any wrongdoing, maintaining that he has never intentionally used any banned substances. As part of the ongoing investigation, Chelsea and Mudryk are awaiting the results of a second test to confirm the initial findings.
Chelsea is scheduled to face Shamrock Rovers in the UEFA Conference League on Thursday, December 19, 2024, as they look to move forward in the competition.
