Jada Pollock, a talent manager and the mother of Nigerian singer Wizkid’s children, has shared her thoughts on the challenges of being labeled a “baby mama.”
In a recent interview with BET UK, she expressed frustration at being defined solely by her relationship with Wizkid instead of being recognized for her own professional achievements.
Jada recounted a specific moment when she released a statement celebrating the growth of Afrobeat following Wizkid’s Grammy win. However, blogs chose to caption her statement with “Wizkid’s baby mama,” which she felt diminished her entrepreneurial efforts and dedication. As she put it, “The narrative does not recognize that you’re an entrepreneur and a hardworking businesswoman. I’m not only a mother but also a manager, and I’ve helped build a legacy.”
Jada and Wizkid began their relationship in 2014 and have two children together: their first son, Zion, born in 2017, and their second son, AJ, born in 2022.
Throughout her career, Jada has managed several international artists, including Chris Brown and Skyla Tyla, and has been instrumental in building a lasting legacy in the music industry.
