Actor Jamie Foxx is pursuing legal action following an incident at Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills, where he was struck in the face by a glass during his birthday celebration on December 13, 2024. Foxx, 57, sustained a laceration near his mouth that required stitches. 
The altercation reportedly began when individuals at a nearby table projected an explicit image onto Foxx's table using a laser pointer. When Foxx approached them to address the behavior, a heavy drinking glass was thrown, hitting him in the face.
Foxx is fully cooperating with law enforcement and intends to press charges to prevent similar incidents in the future. Beverly Hills police are reviewing surveillance footage from the restaurant and are seeking to interview witnesses, including "Jackass" performer Jasper Dolphin, who was reportedly present during the incident.
Following the incident, Foxx addressed the situation on social media, expressing gratitude for the support he received:
> "The devil is a lie. Can’t win here—thank you to everybody that pray and check on me. When your light is shining bright—they try to bring you darkness—but they don’t know that you’re built for it—the lights have been shining bright."
The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made at this time.
