Liverpool Injury Update: Alisson, Jota, and Chiesa Nearing Returns

Liverpool manager Arne Slot provided an update on the club's injured players, expressing optimism about their imminent returns.

Alisson Becker, who has been sidelined since early October due to a hamstring injury, is making good progress but is not yet ready for match action. Slot confirmed Alisson is not ready yet but will be ready soon.

Alisson's latest injury, a tendon issue in his hamstring, has required a longer recovery period. He has been out for eight weeks, missing nine Liverpool games. Diogo Jota, who has been out with a chest injury since his last appearance against Chelsea six weeks ago, is also nearing a return. Federico Chiesa, recovering from a knee injury, is expected to be back in action soon as well.

Liverpool faced Newcastle United on Wednesday and drew 3-3. Despite Caoimhin Kelleher's solid performance in goal, Liverpool missed the presence of their first-choice goalkeeper, Alisson.

Liverpool's next challenge is the Merseyside derby against Everton at Goodison Park. Slot is hopeful that Alisson, Jota, and Chiesa will be available for selection soon, but for now, the team must rely on their current squad.

Slot's confidence in his players' recovery is evident as he stated, "It might take a few more extra days but he's getting closer and closer and like I've always said the end phase of rehab is always the period where you feel like, 'okay, is he really there or does he need a few extra days?'"

Liverpool fans eagerly await the return of their key players, hoping for a strong finish to the season.
