City initially took the lead in the 36th minute when Josko Gvardiol headed in a deflected cross from Kevin De Bruyne.

United's manager, Ruben Amorim, made bold selection choices by omitting key players Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho from the squad, opting instead for Mason Mount in the starting lineup. However, Mount's involvement was short-lived due to an injury that forced his substitution after just 13 minutes, with Kobbie Mainoo taking his place.

The match remained in City's favor until the closing moments, when a defensive error by Matheus Nunes proved costly. Nunes's misplaced back pass was intercepted by Amad Diallo, who was subsequently fouled inside the penalty area, resulting in a penalty. Bruno Fernandes converted the spot-kick to level the score. Shortly thereafter, Diallo capitalized on a long ball, slotting it past goalkeeper Ederson in the 90th minute to complete United's remarkable comeback.

This victory not only underscores Manchester United's resilience but also adds a significant chapter to the storied rivalry between the two clubs.
