Marc Cucurella delivered a standout performance for Chelsea in their 2-1 victory over Brentford at Stamford Bridge on December 15, 2024. 
The Spanish defender opened the scoring just before halftime, heading in a cross from Noni Madueke to secure his first Premier League goal for the Blues.
Nicolas Jackson extended Chelsea's lead in the 80th minute, bringing his season tally to nine goals. Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo netted a late goal in stoppage time, but Chelsea held on to clinch the win.
However, Cucurella's match concluded on a sour note. After the final whistle, he was shown a second yellow card and subsequently a red card for an aggressive altercation with Brentford's Kevin Schade. Both players received yellow cards for the incident, and Cucurella will serve a one-match suspension, missing Chelsea's upcoming fixture against Everton.
Despite the post-match incident, Cucurella expressed his satisfaction with the team's performance on social media. He posted a celebratory image on Instagram with the caption:
"Good win at home to finish off the week! We go again."
This victory marks Chelsea's fifth consecutive league win, propelling them to second place in the Premier League, just two points behind leaders Liverpool.
