Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount has expressed profound disappointment following his recent injury during the Manchester derby. Forced to leave the field in the first half, Mount was visibly emotional. 
In a heartfelt statement released on Friday evening, Mount conveyed his feelings:
"Words can't portray how devastated I'm feeling right now; you could probably see the look on my face when it happened. I knew what it meant. United fans, you may not know me too well yet, but one thing I can guarantee, I will never give up or lose faith. I've said this before, but I will continue to give everything ... , and won't stop until that's achieved."
Manager Ruben Amorim has confirmed that Mount will be sidelined for several weeks, missing the festive period. Amorim acknowledged the challenges posed by such injuries, stating, "It's part of football, and you continue."
