Arsenal's Gabriel Magalhaes and Riccardo Calafiori Miss Out Due to Injury Concerns
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed that Gabriel Magalhaes and Riccardo Calafiori were both unable to play in last night's match against Manchester United due to injury concerns. Arteta stated, "Gabriel was a big risk to play today because he felt something against West Ham." He added, "Sunday is a possibility, same with Calafiori as well."
Gabriel was substituted during Arsenal's recent match against West Ham after suffering discomfort related to a previous injury sustained in Lisbon. Similarly, Calafiori, who has recently returned from a knee injury, was also forced off before the hour mark in the same match.
Despite their absence, Arsenal managed to secure a 2-0 victory over Manchester United last night, with Jakub Kiwior and Oleksandr Zinchenko stepping up to help keep a clean sheet.
Arteta praised the performances of Kiwior and Zinchenko, saying, "Big credit to Jakub and Alex, I think it’s the first start for Jakub after a long time. You have to be thrown against this kind of opposition."
Arsenal will now turn their attention to Sunday's match against Fulham, hoping to have both Gabriel and Calafiori back in the squad.
